Dota 2 Review: The Most Played Game on Steam

Dota 2 is a sequel of the popular Defense of the Ancients (DotA) game. The release date is July 2013, and the latest update was published on Steam. Dota 2 game has a large community of fans and players. This multiplayer online battle arena was published and developed by Valve Corporation. Dota 2 coming out with excellent and simple gameplay, and you can download Dota 2 on Microsoft, Linux, or macOS.

Visuals — 4/5

The Dota 2 full game has decent visuals. The primary colors are dark. The landscapes do not look real but it is not necessary. Despite this, there is a lack of visual animations. For example, the game does not have the mini-events like rank-ups, level-ups, or post-game screens. Commonly, other MOBA games have these features. Also, the developers should pay more attention to the small animations. But, overall, the game looks nice.

The Dota 2 review shows that the game is the most played title on Steam. The gameplay is simple and intuitive. It is referred to as a multiplayer online battle area (MOBA) where all players divide into two teams of five players each known as the Radiant and Dire. After that, they have to fight with each other by creating a battle strategy.

The game has 117 playable characters which are known as “heroes”. Each of them has a unique set of skills, design, strengths, and weaknesses. The players choose their hero during a pre-drafting period (the time where users can discuss the strategy and choose their characters). All heroes are divided into two groups: core and support. The characters from the first group always begin their battle as easy-vulnerable heroes but as you progress the game they become more and more powerful. Unlike carriers, support characters have not such amount of abilities. But you need them for assistance carry heroes.

Dota 2 unblocked version has a lot of different sounds. They are divided into several categories: ambient, cosmetic item, a chat wheel, audio responses, and others. The sounds definitely add charm to the game and make the player dive even more to the gameplay.

Yes. The game has a large community, and the users play it no matter it is their 100th hour of play or 1000th. The developers update the game on a regular basis. They add new features, heroes, as a result, the gameplay is always evolving, and there is always something new to discover. Moreover, Dota 2 latest version has excellent graphics and sounds effects. It is a good choice to spend your time with friends.


Dota 2 is one of the oldest MOBA games but it still does not lose the popularity, and only gaining even more fans every year. The game is available to play on the computer. What’s more, Dota 2 is free to play game. There are additional content packages and bundles but it is not necessary to purchase. It is obvious, that once you try to play the game, you cannot stop.
